    All your questions answered about the Game Day excursion. Game Day is an immersive AFL-themed excursion, aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, that engages Levels 5 and 6 in STEM through cutting-edge technology. Frequently asked questions What does it cost schools to participate in Game Day? Game Day is FREE for schools. Are there any requirements for our school to attend? To ensure our programs remain engaging and relevant to young people, we seek to survey students for feedback and improvements. We will ask you to provide a class list of the students attending, including their first and last names and will ask students to respond to survey questions relating to their experience of Game Day. Does The Huddle have a privacy policy? Protecting personal information is fundamental to The Huddle’s relationship with participants, schools, and partners. All personal information received in connection with a Huddle program is treated seriously and is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles. Teachers can book online by clicking here. (https://www.thehuddle.org.au/) What year levels is Game Day suitable for? Game Day is aimed at students in grades 5 and 6. Where is Game Day? Game Day is located in The Huddle which is based at the North Melbourne Football Club, 204-206 Arden St, North Melbourne VIC 3051. What can students expect? Students can expect a fun and memorable day where they are required to think critically and work collaboratively to succeed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics challenges, such as building a pendulum to kick a ball through the goals. Students will explore concepts such as artificial and emotional intelligence, grit, and mindset as well as identify their own characteristics that will support students to 'win’ throughout life. How long does Game Day go for? Students should arrive at 9.45am sharp. Game Day is divided into four 45 minute ‘quarters’, with 45 minutes allocated for lunch. Typically, students will depart The Huddle from 2.30pm. Is lunch provided to students? Students will need to bring their own lunch. There are NO canteen facilities. There is access to free drinking water. Is Game Day aligned to the Victorian Curriculum? Yes, Game Day is aligned to content descriptors within the Mathematics, Science and Design, and Technologies Learning Areas along with the Critical and Creative Thinking, and Personal and Social Capability Curriculum. Is transport available for students? Transport to and from the venue is at the school’s discretion and at its own cost. It includes a range of excursions and activities that rotate each school holidays, such as trips to the beach, sport clinics, and art activities. To be eligible, your child must live, go to school, pray or play in the City of Melbourne, Moonee Valley or the City of Wyndham. We are unable to accept children aged 7 and under. Senior (13 - 18 years) This school holiday program provides local young people from the City of Melbourne, Moonee Valley and City of Wyndham with opportunities to develop skills in leadership, education, careers and caring for their community. The program includes a range of activities that change each term, such as sports tournaments, career-ready courses like first aid and barista training, and arts activities. Participants reflect upon and share their story, developing an understanding of how their values and attributes shape their identity and future pathways. Teachers at schools in the North Melbourne and Wyndham areas in Levels 5–12* can engage The Huddle to facilitate workshops for their students across four consecutive weeks. Please note: due to AFL zoning agreements, your school must be located in the City of Melbourne, Moonee Valley, or Wyndham to be eligible to participate. Schools outside these zones are encouraged to get in touch via email to be the first to hear about future opportunities. The program comprises two core packages, My True North and Our True North, plus an introductory package for Level 4 students called Team True North. Team True North (Level 4) Team True North is an introductory program designed to build foundational social and collaborative skills. Students participate in workshops focused on: Similarities and differences Emotions Conflict Collaboration My True North My True North is a transformative program that empowers students to develop intrapersonal skills, equipping them to navigate challenges, embrace change, and foster a growth mindset.
