Celebrating Pride Month

Throughout June, the Kangaroos hosted a range of activities to celebrate Pride Month and the LGBTQIA+ community as part of the club's commitment to its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy.

One of the highlights was the annual Rainbow Roo Trivia, which brought together AFLW program and administration staff to test their knowledge of queer history, culture and pop culture. The Club was fortunate to have the fantastic Marnie Vinall and Hester Brown as hosts, whose energy and enthusiasm made for an engaging and memorable event.

Teams battled it out for the coveted grand prize: a gift pack from Queer Food, a social enterprise that reinvests its revenue into an impact fund providing micro-grants for gender-affirming care, helping address the ongoing barriers faced by trans and gender-diverse communities.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate LGBTQIA+ voices, strengthen connections across the club, and continue building a culture where everyone feels valued, respected and included.
